Ulster XC Championships 2015

Course Description:

The course will be similar to the one used by Lakeland CC at the start of the year and Caldwell Cycles in April 2015. Colebrooke Estate in Brookborough County Fermanagh is the home of the Brookborough family and is a vast 1,000 acre site which includes a spa, gym and accommodation where visitors can do 4×4 driving, fishing, deer stalking, clay pigeon shooting, archery and now mountain bike racing!!

Criteria for taking part: This is an open event and riders from outside of Ulster are welcome to take part.  The championship medals will only be awarded to Ulster riders but there will be prizes for non-Ulster riders getting onto the podium.  See detailed criteria for eligible of medals below.  NOTE: All championship categories are PRE-ENTRY ONLY.

UNDER 6 (a ‘fun’ race for riders who can’t complete an Under 8s course)

Course practice:
Practice on the day will only be allowed when no other races are taking place. Riders caught practicing on the course when other races are in progress will be disqualified.  Ask the commissaire when you can practice on the course.

Ulster Championship medals
Ulster championship medals will be awarded for the following races:
Elite men, Elite women, Espoirs, Junior men, Junior women, M40, M50 and M30
Under 16, Under 14, Under 12
Ulster medals will only be awarded to riders who satisfy the following criteria
(a) belong to a club based in Ulster, or
(b) are unattached but currently resident in Ulster


Criteria for winning championship medals
Championship medals will be awarded irrespective of the number of entrants in each category.

Race licences & one-day licences
To race in the championship categories (Elite men, Elite women, Espoirs, Junior men, Junior women, Veterans and Masters) riders must have a Limited competition licence or a Full competition licence.  Riders cannot take part in the championship category races using an event licence (previously known as a one-day licence).
An annual youth licence will cover the riders in the youth categories.
