After a one year break in 2009, 2010 saw the re-commencement of cross country mountain bike racing in Ulster. We presented a season of exhilarating mountain bike racing on some of the best courses in the country from the Mournes to the Sperrins.
The 2010 Ulster Cross Country league consisted of 7 rounds of off-road bike racing held over a wide range of terrains and venues from parkland racing, singletrack forest trails to open trail quarry courses. With the league including three rounds of the Irish National Points Series we’ve been working hard to provide you all with a series of race courses which we hope will become known as some of the best in the country.
The 2011 season was 6 rounds with the Ulster Championships in Craigavon in September 2011.
In 2012 we had a new venue, Ballykelly forest, which has not been used since 2000, however we lost the great venue at Magheramorne this year. The Ulster Championships were scheduled for Castlewellan in August.
With 2013 we had another great year of racing with 5 rounds of the series and the Ulster championships being held in Gortin Forest. We also had the addition of the World Police and Fire Games being held at Kilbroney.
2014 saw another 5 round series kicking off early season with Kilbroney. Banbridge CC ran the Ulster championships at Castlewellan.
We are looking forward to some great racing this year and hope that you will come along and join us. See details of the rounds on the links on the left hand side.
